I’ve been known to do some pretty wacky stuff to my face in the name of anti aging, but my new obsession is making people want to hurl their breakfast. It’s called micro-needling. You get a tool that resembles something like an ancient torture device, which has needles on it, and you roll it all over your face.
The theory of this whole process makes sense to me – you essentially trick your face into thinking that it’s injured, which then tries to repair itself. It stimulates collagen and elastin therefore helps with fine wrinkles, scars, and overall appearance of the skin. Its like aerating your skin, in the same way you aerate your lawn when you want healthy grass to grow back. Grass…skin…it’s all the same…
This video below pretty much sums up everything you need to know. Its pretty basic and easy to follow, as I’m not one to watch those videos with crazy medical terms and interviews with any serious-looking doctors. This lady is pretty hardcore, but I like to see a real person with real skin concerns demonstrating a procedure and explaining things in layman terms.
Warning: if you get queasy at the sight of blood, you might want to skip the demonstration portion of the video, but it’s very informative nonetheless.
Now, go kill your skin and watch it get better!
